Cooking Skills & Nutrition

Limited access to healthy, affordable foods paired with an abundance of fast food restaurants and corner stores mean families tend to consume mostly processed food and sugar laden drinks.  They make (or buy) what they know and what is convenient. Sunday Suppers provides support to families so that they can find affordable and healthy foods and learn healthy ways to prepare it.

We provide information and skills so that families can set individualized goals that will lead to lasting changes.  Staff, community volunteers and trained facilitators lead interactive cooking demonstrations using fresh food in simple, easy to follow recipes. Other lessons focus on reading food labels, making healthier food and beverage choices and exercise & movement, and food budgeting.
