Community Gardening

Every spring families plan what crops to plant, prepare raised beds, plant vegetables and herbs and take care of the garden. For many (especially the kids) it is a new experience – seeing how these vegetables grow. This experience provides a link to nature and to the earth. Going to the garden, picking tomatoes and peppers to use for that night’s dinner opens up new possibilities and a new appreciation for fresh food. And of course it is the best way for families to include fresh and affordable food into their diet.
