To assess impact and success and improve the quality of our program, data is collected and feedback is solicited from participants. The data in the graphic at right represents 45 families (162 individuals).
A key factor in the success of Sunday Suppers is building relationships: among participants, with Sunday Suppers staff and with the larger community. This is crucial in developing trust, commitment to the program and success in achieving goals. At intake, many of our families report feeling isolated, with limited support systems and resources. Sunday Suppers offers friendship, support and a sense of belonging; paralleling the deeper family relationships that develop. Families also share resources regarding where to access food, medical services and social service referrals.
Taken together, these data demonstrate the positive impact Sunday Suppers is having on indicators of health outcomes, family cohesion and connectedness, and a sense of community.
